The National Exchange Point is not a database: no medical data is stored in it. This information simply remains in the files at the GP and pharmacy. Other healthcare providers can view the most important information there via the National Switch Point.
Healthcare providers may only share your data if you give permission. You can arrange this permission yourself via the website www.volgjezorg.nl. You can also submit a completed and signed consent form to your GP and pharmacy. Via the access overview you can see for yourself which healthcare providers have looked at your data. You can also see there what data they have viewed.
The National Switch Point is divided into regions. Your healthcare providers can only share and view your medical information within your region.
