The ALS Relatives app has been developed to pay close attention to how the loved ones of ALS patients are doing and to give them tips on shaping their care tasks. The app makes it possible to access knowledge and experience of people who have experienced the same thing.

The app also offers the option for self-monitoring. A patient can use a score to indicate how he or she is doing every day. He/she also fills in every day how the person feels and what problems he/she experiences. The patient records his/her weight every week and completes a monthly questionnaire about physical functioning. The platform provides the opportunity to ask questions to the care coach.
