As of January 1, Helpdesk Digital Care also supports patients of general practitioners in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. As a result, Amsterdam residents can now go to one place for all their non-medical questions regarding digital care with their GP. They are helped skillfully and with a lot of patience by an experienced team of service employees. Amsterdam general practitioners and practice assistants can thus focus on providing the best possible care.
All this is possible thanks to a new collaboration between the Amsterdam General Practitioners Alliance (AHah) and Digital Care Helpdesk. The AHa is a partnership of general practitioners in Amsterdam and the surrounding area and consists of eight care groups, the Huisartsenkring Amsterdam/Almere, Huisartsenposten Amsterdam and Elaa (ROS). In total, the care groups represent more than 90% of general practitioners in the Amsterdam region.
Dion Zoontjens, general director at the Amsterdam GP Alliance, is happy with the collaboration: “Digital care is one of the options for receiving good and accessible care as a resident. This involves, for example, making an online appointment, conducting a consultation via video calling or requesting medication with your smartphone. These are all existing options. But not everyone feels comfortable with this or finds it easy to do. These GP patients can now ask the Digital Care Helpdesk to help if all else fails.”
Merlijne Sonneveld, founder and director at Helpdesk Digital Care, is also pleased: “The collaboration with the Amsterdam GP Alliance means further expansion of the number of patients in the Netherlands for whom support in the use of digital care is available. Our mission is to make digital healthcare accessible to everyone and this collaboration directly contributes to this. We are happy to also be able to use our knowledge and experience for the residents of Amsterdam.”
“Several discussions are underway with various Amsterdam healthcare institutions and we look forward to optimally supporting the entire region in the use of digital care. We are working together with Sigra (the regional partnership of organizations in healthcare and welfare in the region) and, for example, health insurer Zilveren Kruis.”
The service employees of Helpdesk Digitale Zorg can be reached by patients of the Amsterdam general practitioners by email, chat or telephone on working days between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. If someone calls outside these hours, they will be called back the next working day. On helpdeskdigitalezorg.nl/amsterdamsehuisartsen patients can find the most important information and contact details in one place. Here you can find an overview of manuals for the most commonly used digital applications. And there is an overview of various local organizations that can help people in the area get started.
Digital Care Helpdesk now supports patients from various healthcare institutions throughout the country, including various GP organizations such as: General practitioners in the city of Utrecht, the RHOGO (Gooi and Vecht region), General practitioners in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and others.
