Accessibility

Every visitor should be able to use our website effectively. That is what we strive for.

Accessibility of the Digital Healthcare Helpdesk

At Helpdesk Digitale Zorg, we believe it is important that everyone can use our website effectively. Therefore, we do our best to make the site accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. In doing so, we follow the WCAG 2.1 AA Guidelines. These are international agreements to make websites understandable, navigable, and usable for everyone.

At the bottom of this page, you will find how to contact us if you encounter something that is not working properly.

How accessible is our website?

In October 2025, an external agency conducted an accessibility audit on a number of pages of our website. Based on this, we know what is working well and what we still need to improve. We are addressing these points for improvement step by step.

Areas for which we do not (yet) fully comply

Although we strive for full accessibility, there are components that currently pose an additional challenge:

  • For videos loaded via external platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo, we cannot always guarantee that the subtitles or audio description meet accessibility requirements.
  • Sometimes we use reports or documents from other organizations. These PDFs were not created by us, so we cannot always guarantee their accessibility.

Need help? Are you experiencing problems with a specific document or video? Then please contact us via hallo@helpdeskdigitalezorg.nl. We would be happy to see if we can convey the information to you in another way (for example, in written form or via an oral explanation).

How we continue to monitor accessibility

Our website is constantly growing. Therefore, we pay attention to accessibility for every new page and every new article. We use an internal manual for this, so that everyone on our team knows what to look out for, such as:

  • clear headings and text;
  • good color contrasts;
  • alternative texts for images;
  • logical and clear navigation.

Keep improving

Accessibility is never “finished”. We continue to learn, test, and improve. When guidelines change or we receive new feedback, we incorporate this into the further development of our website.

Are you experiencing a problem? Let us know.

We want our website to work for you. Do you notice anything that is inaccessible or difficult to use? If so, please let us know. You can report this to us by emailing hallo@helpdeskdigitalezorg.nl. It helps if you describe what is not working properly and include a link to the page where you are experiencing the problem.
