A viewer is an additional screen within the care provider's own healthcare information system that allows you to retrieve client data from other care providers. This means that you do not have to search for the correct information, but can view the most recent and relevant data in one clear overview. You do not need to actively send or retrieve data.
Which data can you view?
You can view data from primary care as well as from hospitals. This provides you with a comprehensive picture of the client. The source of the data is transparent. Currently, certain data, such as a birth report or ultrasound images, cannot yet be displayed in a structured manner and must be made accessible via documents. (version: January 2025)
How does it work?
You open the viewer from your own healthcare information system using an additional button. You search for the client's file and open it. The screen with relevant data then becomes visible. When you close the viewer, the client's comprehensive overview also closes. You can access the data again by reopening the viewer.
What is the goal of a viewer?
A viewer is a tool to enable secure digital data exchange between healthcare providers. This ensures better collaboration between healthcare providers. The basic principle is that data is recorded once and can subsequently be reused by various healthcare providers.
Future of the viewer:
Various suppliers of healthcare information systems are developing viewers. In the future, it is expected that importing data into your own system will also become possible.
