To properly inform your clients about PHRs, it is important that you yourself have a good understanding of what a PHR is, how it works, and what the benefits and limitations are.

• Explain that a PGO can be compared to a digital vault for health data.
• Emphasize that PHRs are free to use.
• Mention that PHRs are still very much under development and that more and more functionalities will become available.
• E-learning for Healthcare Professionals:

A free e-learning course is available for healthcare professionals to learn more about PHRs. This e-learning consists of two modules and covers topics such as: what a PHR is, how it works, its origins, its importance, developments, and the difference compared to a portal. The e-learning is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience level.
