How do I log in to DigiD with a driver's license or identity card?
Log in with a driver's license or identity card can only be done with:
- An Dutch identity card (issued from 13 March 2021).
- An Dutch driving license (issued from 26 May 2018).
This only works on a computer or telephone of NFC.
Steps in brief
- Choose 'With my driver's license' or for 'With my ID' on the login screen.
- Choose a device to scan with.
- Scan your driver's license or identity card.
1. Choose login method
Select the option on the login screen 'With my driver's license' or 'With my ID'.
2. Choose a device
- Indicate which device you want to use.
- Log in via computer:
– Select '‘On a computer with an NFC card reader'.
– Place your identification document on the NFC scanner. - Log in via telephone:- Select '‘On a mobile with an NFC reader'.
3. Scan
- Open the DigiD app on your phone.
- Get a pairing code open and enter this on the device you use to log in.
- Lay your proof of identity or driver's license on the telephone to scan the card.
4. You're logged in
- You are now logged in
